My name is Amanda Adams and I’m dancer, choreographer, aerialist, and serial mover.
Currently residing in Los Angeles, I am a recent graduate of UCLA where I earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Dance and Psychology. Prior to college, I attended the prestigious Orange County School of the Arts from 7th to 12th grade as a commercial dance major. Dance was an incredible part of my childhood and some of my fondest memories are of traveling the world with Joffrey Dance intensives and training under Mia Michaels and Liz Imperio.
These days I spend my time training as a full time dancer at EDGE performing Arts Center, Millennium Dance Complex, and Playground LA. Training in Los Angeles has taught me to push my comfort zone and to be present and dance with everything I’ve got. I learn so much with every class I take and could honestly write a novel about all the lessons I’ve learned these past months. My current favorite teachers are Adam Parsons, Nina McNeely, Rudy Abreu, Nicole Kirkland, and Kyle Hanagami. They are inspiring, hands on, and I grow immensely every time I take their classes.
HOWEVER….If you didn’t already know…I LOVE learning and training in non-traditional art forms! I am also an aerialist, rock climber, tricker, and so much more! I truly believe my love for all these styles is what separate me from all other dancers. You won’t be able to find a dancer that excels in such an array of art forms anywhere but here 😉
But the truth is, I am addicted to progress. No matter how difficult something is, you will ALWAYS see growth if you try it more than once! So whatever it is, keep coming back and your progress will be inevitable.
My current training styles include:
- Cyr Wheel
- Aerial silk
- Tricking and tumbling
- Vertical Dance
- Hand balancing
- Ninja Warrior
Movement has brought my life so much joy and has connected me with people around the globe. If you’re interested in training or collaborating you can contact me here or through my Instagram @amandas.adventures !
